Exploring the Allure of Porto Heli, Greece: A Hidden Gem in the Peloponnese

Kelley Bauer

If you follow on social media, you know I have been traveling in Greece! Follow along here to see all of the details about this opportunity provided by Wanderluxe Destinations. The first part of my FAM trip was three glorious nights at Nikki Beach Resort and Spa in Porto Heli. Located three hours from Athens and one hour from Mykonos, Nikki Beach is an amazing spot to explore some of the hidden gems in the Peloponnese.

To begin, the view from my room was a nice welcome.

The Nikki Beach property here is unlike the Nikki Beach brand. Here in Porto Heli, the property is family-friendly with a chill and relaxing vibe. All rooms here are oceanfront rooms with two restuarants and a poolside bar. Spa facilities and a brand new gym round out the resort.

A small and private beach provides an escape, perfect for rejuvenation.

Food at Nikki Beach was incredible. The rooftop restaurant at Qurio was a pure delight.

The resort has its own dock, and they offer multiple day trips to other islands. Private water taxis just a few steps from the beach make exploration a breeze.

Our first full day led us to the island of Spetses.

Look at the beautiful sky and gorgeous water!

We took a horse and buggy tour through town.

Our 15-minute ride took us to an island where cars aren't allowed, and folks just walk or bike around town. It was so cute.

Lunch with a view at Nero Tis Agapis

Our next full day led us to Epidaurus, the santuary of the ancient Greek god of medicine, and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

An incredible view from the top.

After this, we stopped at the first capital of modern Greece, Nafplion. Often described as the nation's most beautiful city, Nafplion was a lovely way to spend the afternoon shopping and grabbing lunch.

The doors all over Greece were always beautiful.

After leaving Nafplion, we visited Mycenae, the capitol of the kingdom of Agamemnon, the leader of the Greeks during the Trojan War. Also, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

As my first days in Greece at Nikki Beach came to an end, we enjoyed a visit into Porto Heli, only a 5 minute taxi from the hotel. We closed the town down eating a local spot.

Goodbye to Porto Heli and Nikki Beach! Though I was sad for this to end, we headed to Cyprus early the next morning.
