Exploring the Charm and Beauty of Cyprus: A Three-Day Itinerary

Kelley Bauer

The second part of my FAM took me to Cyprus, an island nestled in the heart of the Mediterranean. Cyprus is a blend of ancient history, vibrant culture, and some of the most amazing hospitality that I have ever experienced in my travels. And just like so much of Greece, Cyprus is a beautiful blend of rugged mountain ranges and ocean waves.

Let's start with the view from my balcony at the gorgeous Parklane Resort and Spa, Limassol

This resort and its staff offered luxury and attention that will certainly bring me back. I enjoyed pampering at Kalloni Spa, It's award-winning spa with the only Thalassotherapy Spa in the country. The water therapy, complete with it's Black Sea floating pool using the healing properties of the seawater and the massage areas throughout the large pool started my treatment. I got to spend an hour moving from one pool to the next.

This was the main pool.

Then I enjoyed a 90 minute deep tissue massage, topped off with quiet time and a snack after.

And let's discuss the food. Parklane delivered on fine dining, fresh seafood, and some of the best mixologists ever.

Our first dinner was at the acclaimed La Petite Maison. French Riviera cuisine set in a lovely outdoor dining space.

Then our final night was at Nammos, serving succulent seafood and the best ravioli I have ever put in my mouth.

Another unique aspect of the Parklane Resort and Spa is its curated art collection. There are contemporary and tradional art pieces everywhere adding beauty and depth to the guest experience.

My awesome FAM Family.

Cyprus has so much to explore, but our time was limited, so we did two outings. The first was to Limassol Harbor and old town. Two of my favorite things are water and old towns. The sidewalk sitting was on point this particular night.

Harbor views.

Our second venture was to Lefkara, a charming village nestled in the foothills of the Troodos Mountains. Lefkara is famous for Lefkaritika, Lefkara lace, which is recognized by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Passed down for centuries, this delicate form of embroidery became famous with Leonardo da Vinci supposedly purchased a cloth in the 15th century.

We met this lady and she explained it all to us.

Lefkara is also known for its silver filigree. I may have bought a few things here. And, certainly, Lefkara is know for its quaint courtyards and preserved architecture. I wish I had missed the van to go back because I could have wandered for hours here.

Church of the Holy Cross

All of our time was incredibly in Cyprus. The resort was perfection, and the exploration left me wanting to return. Do you need a new passport stamp? Let me tell you when visiting Cyprus makes sense. Spending a week in London, Rome, Paris, Vienna (and many more) gives you the opportunity to take a direct flight to Larnarca International Airport. It provides the perfect mix of urban and coastal. Or make this an extension to your Greece itinerary. And, finally, a trip to Hungary or Germany could be rounded out with a trip to Cyprus. It's easily accessible to so many places.

Let me leave you with a few more pictures of paradise.

Until next time!
