Did you know London was known for world cuisine? It is. It’s so much more than fish and chips and pub food, though that is worth the trip as well. I mean I grew up in a family that loved it's fried food.
Here is the list of where we ate and what our other possibilities were. (I often book multiple places so that we have choices on that day. It’s a simple call or email to cancel the one we don’t go to.)
Breakfast in London
Alas, we didn’t venture out for breakfast because the K + K Hotel George had the most fabulous breakfast of our trip. Not only were the indoor and outdoor dining spaces so beautiful, the food was perfection. They had an enormous selection of hot food, numerous breads and pastries, an assortment of fresh meats and cheeses and fruits, and finally, two self-serve expresso coffee machines. And on Sundays champagne is included. Self-serve. All you can pour. Enough said. The best hotel breakfast ever.

Lunch in London
Jimmy’s Grill, quick service and tons of options from vegetarian or terrific burgers, so it was the perfect spot to start our trip.

Chez Antoinette Victoria, French food. I was determined to sample the world cuisine as much as possible. Outdoor seating on this mild day was the perfect spot to relax, rest our legs, and people watch.
French onion soup, Caesar salad and Croque Monsieur, some outrageously delicious salad with butternut squash and pumpkin seeds, and, for dessert, creme brulee.
Duchess of Cambridge in Windsor: fish and chips and Pimm’s frozen lemonade...This is a new favorite!
Dinners in London
The Churchill Arms, our first dinner in London needed to be this beauty. The kicker is they don’t serve fish and chips. Instead they serve Thai food. Not a ton of pictures, but let me say, the food was delish!

The sampler platter with dumplings, potstickers, wings, egg rolls, and more
Blacklock in Covent Garden, this meal was spectacular. Think Jeff Ruby’s but in London and not as outrageously priced. And Covent Garden is a spectacular setting, so after dinner we wandered around and enjoyed the nightlife around us.
The family was cooperating for pictures!

We chose the “All In” option. It included bites of numerous appetizers individually plated for each customer. Then a plate pilled high with beef, pork, and lamb all piled on charcoal-grilled flatbreads. Then each of us picked a side. We got the hour ash roasted sweet potato, kale and parmesan salad, and beef dripping chips (fries). Simply mouth-watering.
The Sun in Spendor in Notting Hill, I booked this as an option on the final night because it was so close to the hotel. I am glad I made it an option because we were so tired by that night we didn’t have the energy to make a long Tube ride somewhere else.

Fish and chips, of course! We weren’t a fan of the mash peas though.
Other places I booked around town depending on our location:
The Mayflower Pub
The Scarsdale Tavern (didn’t take reservations, and it was for our last night, so I didn’t want to risk a line on Saturday night)
The Windsor Castle Pub
The Boatman in Windsor
Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese Pub in Covent Garden
The Cow in Notting Hill
Until next time, London. Did you miss London Part 1 and London Part 2?
